Red May – Neoliberal Seattle: The City as Investment
May 16 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PDT
At 7:30pm Friday May 17th, Red May Seattle and Town Hall Seattle will host a panel titled Neoliberal Seattle: The City as Investment with Samual Stein (Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State), Mimi Sheller (Mobility Justice), Cedric Johnson (The Neoliberal Deluge: Hurricane Katrina and the Remaking of New Orleans), and filmmaker-Seattle City Council candidate Shaun Scott at The Summit (420 E Pike St Seattle, WA 98122).
Panelists will examine gentrification and wealth inequality and seek to answer: “How did it get to this point? Who made it happen? And how can we turn that world upside down? Tonight, we convene the Red May City Council to investigate these matters and map new urban struggles.”
