Another month, another meetup with The Urbanist! Our meetups are open to all and free to attend, so come by if you want to meet us or get into the weeds of urban policy. We’ll be at the Belltown Pub tomorrow, July 12th from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. You can find us in the loft space just beyond the bar area.

Our guest this month is Mercedes Elizalde, Policy and Community Engagement Strategist for Seattle City Councilmember Debora Juarez. She will discuss updates to open space and parks policies in the Seattle 2035 Comprehensive Plan (a committee meeting is set for this on July 21st), her office’s work around the 130th Street Link station, and the new Aurora-Licton-Spring urban village. North Seattle has infamously been underrepresented in local politics, and Councilmember Juarez is working within the new district system to put the area on the map with equitable investments in public infrastructure.

We hope to see you there!
