April Urbanist Talk with Councilmember Andrew Lewis

On April 11th, Seattle City Councilmember Andrew Lewis is our guest for The Urbanist monthly speaker series. Lewis won election in District 7 in 2019 and is up for reelection this year. We’ll discuss his work on Council and his legislative priorities.

As chair of the select committee on homelessness, Lewis has been an advocate for increasing permanent supportive housing. He’s also pushed the City to establish a program to provide civilian emergency response, citing the success of a pilot program in Denver. On transportation, he’s pushed for safe streets investments like a redesign of Thomas Street and called for the pedestrianization of Pike Place — after a stakeholder process of course.

The line opens at 6:25pm and we’ll have brief announcements before launching into our talk with Lewis. The video will be posted on our website and YouTube page for those who can’t make it.
