The Urbanist's Summer Garden Party will be in a beautiful patio. Get your ticket now to save your spot! (The Urbanist)

The Urbanist is closing out May with a pair of suburban socials, as well as an exciting Seattle Bagel Bike Ride in partnership with Wombi. We also have some larger events coming up in June, including a June 4th candidate forum hosted by the Move All Seattle Sustainably (MASS) Coalition and The Urbanist’s Eastside Summer Garden Party, where we will celebrate our increased coverage of the Eastside.

May 31: Seattle Bagel Bike Ride

June 8: The Urbanist’s Eastside Garden Party Fundraiser

Mingle with changemakers who believe in a more equitable, sustainable Puget Sound region. We’ll enjoy an evening of good cheer and conversation in a beautiful garden setting as we reflect on the impact of The Urbanist’s work and look ahead to what’s next.

The evening will include a brief speaking program featuring members of our publishing team and local elected officials, including state representatives and city councilmembers, who will share how our reporting is shaping policy and progress in the region.

May 30: Let’s Ride to Woodinville! (Urbanist Shoreline)

Join us for a Bike Month field trip to Woodinville via bike with a stop at Swanky Scoop and other Woodinville attractions.

We’ll ride at a slow, safe and social pace from Shoreline to downtown Woodinville via Perkins Way, the Burke Gilman, and Sammy Trail. We should arrive in downtown Woodinville a little before 5pm. We will ride together back around 6ish and be back in Shoreline around 7ish. The bike ride is about 20 miles round trip and should take a little bit under one hour each way.

Or take transit and meet us!

  • What: A bike ride from Shoreline to Downtown Woodinville and back.
  • Where: 185th Street Station in Shoreline.
  • When: May 30th, departing at 4pm and returning at 7pm.

June 21: Let’s Walk Shoreline (Urbanist Shoreline)

Join Urbanist Shoreline for a walk across Shoreline, from shoreline to shoreline!

The exact route is to be determined but we will probably be walking around 8 miles. We will take our time, stopping to look at different pedestrian infrastructure and other sites of interest. You are welcome to meet us along the way. Beach picnic at the end!

This will be a long walk but is not meant to be a major athletic event – the pace will be leisurely and all are welcome!
