Over the coming month, The Urbanist is hosting a smattering of events, including a walking tour of the City of Seattle’s proposed neighborhood center in Madison Valley on September 10, preparing for the public comment session on the 12th. Visit our event page for more information on this tour, which will feature staff from the Seattle Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD).

On September 18, The Urbanist and Seattle Subway are cohosting our endorsed King County Executive candidate, Claudia Balducci, at Paradise on Capitol Hill. Come meet Claudia, hear about how you can plug into the campaign, and enjoy some light appetizers.

On a similar note, we are hosting another campaign volunteer training on October 4, this time in Mountlake Terrace. Candidates from all over the north suburbs will answer questions and discuss the dynamics of campaigning in their jurisdictions.

Finally, while some other folks are running a relay race down the 1 line, if you bike, The Urbanist is hosting a Seattle scavenger hunt bike ride at 11am on September 28! Come alone or with a group and compete to win your team some Urbanist beanies, or take it easy and explore some parts of the city you’ve never seen before.

The scavenger hunt will begin at Judkins Park, from which we will split into teams, announce the theme and the list of locations you are looking for, and we will part ways. We will regroup several hours later at Burke-Gilman Brewing Company. Food will be available at the nearby food trucks.
