On December 6, the long-awaited Federal Way Link Extension finally opened, bringing two new light rail stations in Kent and a new terminus in Federal Way online. The extension added 7.8 miles to the south end of Sound Transit’s system, and the agency celebrated the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, complete with vendors and activities at each of the three new stations. In this short video, Hanoch Yeung of Best Side Cycling shares vignettes of opening day events, some in-motion clips along the route, and elements of the station grounds.
