The terrible legacy of colonialism and apartheid have left deep marks in South Africa that are still visible today. Vox explores the history of segregation in the country and how communities are still very divided along racial lines even though apartheid was ended in the 1990s. The social and economic consequences from this remain entrenched with very disparate outcomes for people.
