In just two months, voters will elect a new Seattle City Council, and the race is on for candidates to make their closing pitches. Urbanist-endorsed candidates had a very good showing in the August primary. Six of seven candidates endorsed by The Urbanist Elections Committee advanced, with five of them the top vote-getters in their district. Still, endorsed candidates will need a strong grassroots campaign to close the deal, especially facing the prospect of another centrist money bomb and media blitz like Seattle has seen in recent races.

Below is a list of canvassing events and opportunities to support The Urbanist’s endorsed candidates. If you’d like to see Seattle move in an urbanist direction, this is something tangible you can do to make it happen.

The Urbanist’s slate shares our urgency for addressing the housing affordability crisis, for implementing a green new deal to decarbonize our economy, for improving public transit, and for designing streets to be safer for people walking, rolling, and biking. Let’s send them to City Hall!

The candidate’s district is noted in parentheses after the event name. For example, Seattle City Council District 4 is abbreviated SCC-D4 and King County Council District 8 is abbreviated KCC-D8. Please note that some of our endorsed candidates may not have events listed on this page as they haven’t yet been shared with us; as they are shared with us we will add them to this post and we still support them! Many of these folks have volunteer pages on their websites that we encourage you to check out. Campaign websites are hyperlinked to candidate names in the list below.
