In August, The Urbanist is hosting our monthly Seattle urbanist social at Teku Tavern. Meet some of our writers and board, and talk about trains, housing, and politics over some drinks!
On September 15, The Urbanist is hosting a talk at Town Hall Seattle featuring Ray Delahanty of CityNerd, our contributing editor Ryan Packer, and special guests. Ray will be showing off a work-in-progress video about the Link light rail system before it hits his YouTube channel. Ryan and Ray will discuss the future of public transit and transit-oriented development in our region, covering the obstacles we are facing and the opportunities ahead.

The pre-reception will begin at 5:45 in the reading room and will include a meet-and-greet with Packer, Delahanty, and other Urbanist contributors. A complimentary drink ticket is included with pre-reception ticket purchase. Light food is available from Seattle Town Hall’s cafe, but eating dinner beforehand is recommended. Pre-reception tickets include admission to the main event.
General doors open at 6:30 pm; the main event begins at 7 pm and runs until 8:30. Seating is open – tickets do not correspond to a specific seat and only guarantee entry to the event.
We are looking for volunteers to help handle check-in and act as ushers. Volunteers will have free entry to the event, but will need to arrive early to assist in setup. If you are interested in volunteering, email Diego@theurbanist.org.
The Urbanist X CityNerd: A Transit-Oriented Puget Sound
What: A talk featuring Ray Delahanty of CityNerd, Urbanist reporter Ryan Packer, and to-be-announced special guests. The discussion will focus on recent light rail expansions and the next round of transit expansion and transit-oriented development in our region.

When: Tuesday, September 15, Pre-reception ($65) is 5:45 pm-6:30 pm, General Admission ($35) main event is 7 pm- 8:30 pm.
