The Urbanist has two big events on deck this month. We are hosting a soccer social on July 19 with Sounder at Heart to watch the world championship game, and on July 23rd we'll be hosting our annual endorsement party.
Sounder at Heart is a leading source of local soccer journalism, and we're excited to join them to watch the big game, especially as Seattle has risen to the occasion to be leading host city of the international tournament. As two local, reader-supported publications, this crossover event seemed only natural. Join us at Project 9 Brewing to meet the staff and writers who make both publications possible and take in the final with other fans.
On July 23, The Urbanist's Endorsement Rollout Party will celebrate our slate for the August primary election and give our supporters a chance to meet some of our endorsed candidates. We'll hear from our endorsements committee, staff, and endorsed candidates about the election and future of our region.
As the name suggests, Burke-Gilman Brewery is conveniently located on the Burke-Gilman Trail in Laurelhurst for those arriving by two wheels. A variety of transit routes serve the area too – check the event listing below for details.
July 19th Urbanist and Sounder at Heart Soccer Social

July 23rd Urbanist Endorsement Rollout Party
- What: The Urbanist's annual summer fundraiser and endorsement rollout. Meet some of our endorsed candidates. We'll hear from Urbanist staff about how we arrived at our endorsements, how we intend to support candidates and promote urbanism in the region, and some next steps for our organization. Ballots will be arriving in your mailbox by July 19, and our endorsement write-up is the ultimate urbanist voter resource, especially when paired with this exclusive look behind the scenes.
